A band stop filter, also known as a notch filter, blocks and rejects frequencies between its two cutoff frequency points, passing all frequencies on either side of the range. By combining a basic RC low-pass filter with an RC high-pass filter, we can form a simple bandpass filter that will pass a frequency range or band on either side of the two cutoff frequency points.
