RF and Microwave Duplexer

A microwave duplexer is a three-door device used to transmit and receive signals using the same antenna in a communications system. The dual processor acts as a circulator for low power applications.

Design and Application

Duplexer Design concept

A duplexer is a device that allows bidirectional signal transmission in a single path. In radio or radar communication systems, duplexers allow them to share a common antenna while isolating the receiver from the transmitter.

duplexer can be designed using bulky components or with micro strip materials

Duplexer Design Using Lumped Components

In this design, passive components such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors are used to construct the belt, low, high-pass filters, which are part of the diplex. The dual processor is manufactured using two filters that have different bandwidth responses but the same characteristics for the download and transmission path. Filter design concepts such as Chebishev can be used for better isolation between the Tx and Rx paths of the basic circuits.

Duplexer Design Using Microstrip Lines

Microstrip duplexers are designed in a similar way, a circulator is designed using microstrap material. Various design topologies are available for design and specifications of double types are based on the following substrate specification used in design

How Duplexer Work

A duplexer consists of two filter paths connected parallel to a common port. One provides the path connecting the transmitter and antenna, the other provides a path connecting between the antenna and the receiver. In a duplexer, there is no direct route available between the transmitter and the receiver.

Si Chuan Keenlion Microwave a large selection in narrowband and broadband configurations, covering frequencies from 0.5 to 50 GHz. They are designed to handle from 10 to 30 watts input power in a 50-ohm transmission system. Microstrip or stripline designs are utilized, and optimized for best performance.
